How Do You Know If Your Dog Food is Good Enough?
Dog Food Resources Every Dog Owner Should Check Out
If you own a dog, you might assume that any old dog food will do. Unfortunately, this isn't the case and the wrong dog food can take years of the life of your pooch. I've written articles in the past about the importance of premium dog foods, but I've never given resources as to where you can research which foods are the best. That's about to change. If you have a dog, you have to check out these sites. It'll tell you which foods are good for your dog (and which ones might kill him).
Consumer Search
This dog food review website offers consumer reviews on a vairety of products and they have a list of dog foods that are great for your pet. Not only does it explain why each food is good, but it gives you the general pricing and a link to places that sell each particular brand.
Hub Pages Dog Food Reviews
The Hub Pages dog food reviews is also one of my favorites. I'll be the first to admit that the site could use a better layout and it's not exactly easy to navigate. That being said, it does offer a wealth of information in regards to the quality of dog foods on the market. This one will explain why store brands are not good for your dog (especially Old Roy) and which premium brands really are premium.
The Dog Food Project
The Dog Food project, like many of the other dog food review sites, could probably be a little easier to navigate. It does, however, offer some great information on dog food, what ingredients you should look for, what the dog food companies are doing, etc. If you are about your pet and pet welfare in general, this site is a must-see.
And there you have it. The three sites I recommend any dog owner visit. You'll discover which brands are good for your dog and which aren't. You'll also learn that premium dog food does cost more on the label, but in the long run it will cost you much less.
