Dirt Cheap Airfare For Everyone
Cheap Airfare Tips You Can't Live Without
Cheap airfare is going to be a thing of the past if you believe some of the doomsday analysts. Will air travel really be a thing that only the elite can afford? Perhaps, but we're not in that situation just yet. Airfare is definitely on the rise, but cheap airfare is still available. Here are some tips to help you find it...
Buy Your Tickets in Advance
You need to buy your tickets at least three weeks in advance if you want the best prices. If you wait till the last minute to buy your airfare, you're going to be paying a premium. Buying in advance can save you hundreds of dollars off the price of each seat.
Stay Over Saturday Night
Business travel tends to be more expensive than leisure travel, which means staying overnight on a Saturday can actually reduce the cost of your airfare. Keep this in mind when selecting the dates for your travel.
The cost of your airfare could change by hundreds of dollars depending on which airports you arrive and depart from. Check a few local airports and see if you can arrange for lower ticket prices by altering your route just a bit. Even if you have to drive an hour out of your way, a savings of $200 or more might be worth it.
Make sure you visit at least two or three different sites when checking for cheap airfare and look for specials and discounts, and even if you want to fly one way, look into round-trip prices as well. Round-trip airfare may be cheaper. It's not uncommon for one-way tickets to exceed round-trip tickets in price on the same exact flight.
While cheap airfare may be getting harder to come by, it is by no means nonexistent.
