5 Simple Halloween Safety Tips
Easy Advice for Halloween Safety
Believe it or not, Halloween is right around the corner and it's time to discuss Halloween safety. Yes, I know it feels like summer shouldn't even be over yet but Halloween is right around the corner whether you like it or not. Let's make this one a safe one. Here are some Halloween products and tips that will keep your little ones safe this trick or treat season.
Glow In The Dark
If your kids trick or treat at night, buy them glow sticks, glow bracelets and glow necklaces. They'll last all night and they'll make your kids very visible. My wife ties a few glow sticks to each of the trick or treat baskets. She also puts glow bracelets on the kids arms and a few glow necklaces on them. Sure, they look like glow in the dark poster children, but my wife takes Halloween safety seriously.
Forgo The Masks
Masks may be entertaining, but they can cause serious Halloween safety hazards if they're not designed well. If your kids have Halloween masks that restrict their vision, forgo the mask and use face paints instead.
Check The Candy
I know you hate to feel like a paranoid parent, but the fact of the matter is that there are quite a few weirdos out there and you never know where they live. The chances of your kids getting contaminated candy are very slim, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Do your Halloween safety duty and check every piece of candy your kids bring home this year.
Halloween safety may take some extra time and extra effort this year, but we'd all rather err on the side of caution than have to face a preventable tragedy. Follow this advice to keep your kids safe this year. Halloween safety is every parent's responsibility.
